Travel Charges

To keep pricing simple and transparent, Hart applies a fixed travel charge of $65 per day.

This charge covers:

  • Travel time to and from your site
  • Vehicle running costs
  • Tools and equipment transport

If multiple visits are required for the same job, the travel charge applies per day, not per visit.
Where possible, we plan work efficiently to minimise repeat travel and keep your overall cost down.

Material Charges

Hart uses reliable, high-quality electrical materials to ensure safety, durability, and long-term performance.

Material costs:

  • Are charged separately based on actual usage

  • May include a small handling margin for sourcing and warranty support

  • Will always be discussed upfront for larger or specialised items

If you want full cost clarity before work begins, we’re happy to provide a clear quote outlining expected material charges.

Estimate

An 100% accurate price cannot be given to a job with variables that can cause a final variable cost. An estimate is provided to give the client an indication of costs. Client to be charged total costs of the job. This can be less or more of a given price. For example, if the job is completed quicker with less material, they will be charged less and vice versa. We aim to be within 20% of the price given. An estimate is required if no electrical plans are provided or a job where all details are not or cannot be confirmed.

Quote

This is a fix price given to a job. The job must have a defined scope of work and a timeline before starting The final cost will not vary from the price give, unless there has been a change, addition or variance to the scope of works. If there are changes to the plan a new quote must be approved before work continues or charges at standard rates will apply. An electrical plan and or scope of works must be provided and approved.

Charge up

Work that is completed with no specific budget. This is generally work that needs to be completed quickly or in an emergency situation, a small scope which it would not be economical to provide pricing or has unknown elements to it like fault finding and resolving an electrical issue where the time frame and materials required cannot be provide up front.
